TAT continues “Thailand Travel Shield” insurance project

Bangkok, 5 April 2019 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently announced the continuation of the “Thailand Travel Shield” project to provide online travel insurance for foreign tourists.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said TAT had initiated the creation of the Thailand Travel Shield project as an alternative insurance scheme in July 2014, in partnerships with reputable, publicly-listed insurance companies in Thailand.

“This year marks the fifth anniversary of our travel insurance initiative to ensure that travellers enjoy the utmost travel experience during their visit to Thailand. The project forms part of a concerted effort by the Thai government, our team at TAT, relevant authorities and the private sector to ensure the safety and security of both tourists and residents,” Mr. Yuthasak added.
