Bangkok, 29 January, 2020 – Thailand recently took home two awards at Vakantiebeurs 2020, a travel show in Utrecht, the Netherlands, winning top honours for ‘Best Destination 2020’ and ‘Best Cultural Destination’.
The awards were presented by Reisgraag, a Netherlands-based tour company that has been organising the awards since 2012. This year’s results were based on a survey of over 7,600 of its customers through its website.
“Winning two Reisgraag Awards is another great way to start the New Year 2020,” Director of TAT Paris Office, Miss Worapa Angkhasirisap, said. “We are very honoured to win the Reisgraag Award 2020 for ‘Best Destination 2020’ and ‘Best Cultural Destination’, especially given the very high ratings the country received from Reisgraag’s valued customers.
“To receive 8.9 out of 10 for ‘Best Destination 2020’ and 8.6 out of 10 for ‘Best Cultural Destination’ is something TAT is very proud of.”
The TAT delegation attended Vakantiebeurs 2020, the Netherland’s largest travel trade show, attracting over 100,000visitors each year, from 15 to 19 January.
TAT participated along with top travel partners from Thailand including Thai Airways International, Fox Vakanties, Better Places and Tenzing Travel. The Thai pavilion showcased a host of cultural shows and demonstrations that showcased the stories of Thailand’s many attractions, including a four-region Thai dance performance, traditional Thai massage, and Thai culinary arts.
In 2019, Thailand welcomed over 240,000 visitors from the Netherlands.
