Bangkok, 16 February 2026 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is staging Amazing Thailand Chinese New Year 2026 @ HATYAI from 17–20 February in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, under the concept “Glory of HATYAI”, reinforcing TAT’s strategy to revitalise the local tourism economy and strengthen the city’s role as a leading cross-border destination.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said: “This festival sends a clear signal to the international market that Hat Yai is open, resilient, and future-focused. As one of Thailand’s most important cross-border hubs, particularly for travellers from Malaysia and Singapore, the city drives regional connectivity and quality tourism growth. Following the recent flooding, TAT is moving decisively to restore confidence, reignite demand, and position Hat Yai as a high-value destination fully prepared to welcome global visitors.”
Organised in collaboration with Hatyai City Municipality, the Thai–Chinese Association of Songkhla Province, and local partners, the four-day celebration takes place along Saneha Nusorn Road and Thammanoonvithi Road, transforming the city centre into a large-scale cultural and entertainment district.
Programme highlights include traditional lion and dragon dances, Chinese classical dance and acrobatic performances from Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China, celebratory fireworks, festive illuminations, and interactive DIY workshops. Evening headline concerts feature The Parkinson and Indigo on 17 February, Serious Bacon and Mirrr on 18 February, Getsunova and Whal & Dolph on 19 February, and Gavin D with Zom Marie on 20 February. More than 100 food and lifestyle vendors will animate the streets, blending contemporary entertainment with cultural heritage.
The festival is projected to attract over 50,000 visitors and generate more than 50 million Baht in tourism revenue, encouraging longer stays and increased spending across accommodation, dining, retail, and transport services.
