Bangkok, 28 September 2026 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advises that 28–29 September 2026 will be observed as special public holidays, in line with the Cabinet resolution covering Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan. The measure was introduced in response to continuing heavy rainfall and flooding affecting travel in these areas.
The two-day special public holiday arrangement is intended to reduce travel and support the safety of TAT personnel who may be affected by the current conditions.
On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, TAT personnel will continue to work under the organisation’s existing Work From Anywhere (WFA) arrangement, enabling operations and services to continue remotely.
Throughout this period, TAT will continue to provide information and support to tourists, tourism industry partners, suppliers, and other parties through its available communication channels. TAT personnel remain contactable through online channels, while the TAT Contact Centre 1672 Travel Buddy will continue to operate as normal.
For the submission of official documents, documents may be left with the security officer at the visitor registration counter in Thanarat Hall, TAT Headquarters, during official business hours, Monday–Friday from 08.30–16.30 Hrs. Documents may also be submitted electronically by email to center@tat.or.th.
TAT will also continue its updates on weather and travel conditions in Bangkok and surrounding areas, which have been issued since 26 September 2026, to provide visitors with the latest available information on transport and travel conditions.
For tourism information and assistance, the TAT Contact Centre 1672 remains available 24 hours a day.
