Bangkok, 30 January 2026 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially opened The Night by Amazing Thailand, a night-time art and cultural festival running from 27 January to 7 February 2026 at Lumpini Park, honouring the lifelong contribution of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother to Thai arts, culture, and the SUPPORT Foundation. The festival marks a strategic step in advancing Thailand’s night-time tourism through high-quality, experience-led cultural programming.
The opening ceremony, held on 29 January 2026, was graciously attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana, underscoring the national significance of the event. Her Royal Highness toured key festival zones, including live demonstrations from the SUPPORT Foundation’s Bang Sai Arts and Crafts Centre, a portrait exhibition by artists from the Silpakorn University Painting Alumni Association, and an immersive audio-visual installation depicting royal duties through a multi-sensory box experience. The ceremony also featured a special four-song performance by Her Royal Highness.
Senior dignitaries attending the opening include Mr. Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports; Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor; Mr. Nat Kruthasoot, TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business; and Mr. Thawidet Thong-on, Director of TAT’s Events Department.
Ms. Thapanee said that The Night by Amazing Thailand reflects TAT’s vision to bring night-time destinations to life with character, memorability, and cultural meaning. She noted that the festival conveys the Queen Mother’s lifelong dedication to arts, culture, and the SUPPORT Foundation through contemporary formats that resonate across generations, while encouraging spending across accommodation, dining, retail, and community enterprises. The initiative also plays a strategic role in advancing TAT’s 2026 tourism policy, reinforcing Bangkok’s positioning as a Best Travel 2026 destination through value, experience, and sustainable impact.
Presented under the concept Threads of Silk in the Moonlight, the festival weaves together the symbolism of silk, representing craftsmanship and devotion, with moonlight, reflecting grace and compassion. Through curated night-time experiences combining visual design, music, and performance, the programme transforms Lumpini Park into a refined cultural destination after dark, while paying tribute to the Queen Mother’s enduring cultural legacy.
Festival highlights include immersive royal tribute exhibitions portraying artistic and cultural initiatives inspired by Her Majesty, spanning traditional handicrafts, music, and royal-influenced Thai attire. A dedicated fine art exhibition, Mother of the Land, further reflects the depth of her influence on Thai creative identity.
Demonstration zones feature craftsmanship from the SUPPORT Foundation across 10 booths, showcasing silk weaving, embroidery, basketry, ceramics, glass blowing, and traditional decorative arts. Live demonstrations allow visitors to engage directly with master artisans, reinforcing the festival’s emphasis on cultural continuity and community-based value creation.
Performance programmes blend tradition with contemporary expression, including a modern Khon performance accompanied by jazz, alongside evening concerts featuring a symphony orchestra and leading Thai artists. Together, these elements create a layered cultural journey that aligns with global demand for distinctive night-time experiences and experience-based travel.
“The festival supports Thailand’s broader shift towards value-based tourism, prioritising quality experiences, longer stays, and wider income distribution, while unlocking the potential of the night-time economy to create emotional connections through light, sound, art, and performance,” Ms. Thapanee added.
TAT invites residents and visitors to experience The Night by Amazing Thailand at Lumpini Park from 16.00–21.30 Hrs. daily until 7 February 2026. The venue is easily accessible by MRT Silom Station or MRT Lumpini Station, with additional access via BTS Sala Daeng Station and connecting walkways, allowing visitors to engage seamlessly with a night-time cultural atmosphere that reflects Thailand’s creative spirit, royal heritage, and commitment to sustainable tourism growth.
