Thailand hosts APEC delegates to meaningful ‘Regenerative Tourism’ journeys
APEC delegates were hosted to a truly meaningful day of meticulously designed programmes to showcase the success story in working towards sustainable goals of Talat Noi, a local community hidden in the vibrant and sleepless city of Bangkok, and Sampran Model, a new tourism ecosystem created by involving and uplifting the local community’s value with organic farming in Nakhon Pathom.

With the focus on the concept of ‘Regenerative Tourism’, the two-day meeting covered various topics; such as, Restarting Travel and Tourism, and issues on labour and the workforce in the sector in the post-COVID-19 world; Consideration of the APEC Tourism Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024 in all priority areas; Viewing of Gastronomy as a drive for desirable change, and Regenerative Tourism and the future of APEC tourism.

TAT introduces Sato Triplets as ‘Thailand Tourism Ambassador in Japan’
The Sato Triplets – which comprise the three teenage siblings, Ayato, Hayato, and Yoshito – were in Thailand from 27 July to 6 August, 2022, for online content production to promote Thailand as a tourist destination. Under Japan’s AVEX Entertainment label, the three are known for their talented acrobat synchronised gymnastic skills, and used to be in the All-Japan Junior Team Musical Gymnastics Club.
TAT and Huawei sign MOU to promote smart tourism
The “Digital Transformation and Innovation Development for Smart Tourism” MOU between TAT and Huawei will cover a one-year period from the signing date. The agreement will place emphasis on increasing the capabilities and elevating the tourism industry with innovative technologies and promoting strategic markets – both in the domestic and Chinese tourism markets.
