Rayong Fruit Festival 2018 returns 1-5 June, but fruit buffets at orchards are now open

The fruit season is here once again, in between the summer and rainy seasons in Thailand (May to July), and one of the best places to taste the freshest and best of Thai fruits is in Rayong province.

Situated in Thailand’s Eastern Region, Rayong is famous for its agricultural products and this year’s annual “Rayong Fruit Festival 2018” is scheduled to take place at Ta Phong Fruit Central Market from 1 – 5 June.

The event aims to promote and at the same time improve the quality of fruits and vegetables in Rayong, while also supporting the people and farmers of Rayong and tourism to the province.

Yet even before this festival begins, there are delicious open fruit buffets held at many orchards around Rayong. These are at such orchards as: 

Suan Yai Da
The fruit buffet here runs from 13 April until the end of July or until stocks run out. Open daily from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs., visitors can eat for an unlimited time, with fruits on offer including Durian, Rambutan and Mangosteen. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Lung Thongbai
This fruit buffet also includes special menu Durian ice-cream and is open from 13 April until the end of July, or until stocks are out, from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Lung Prasert
This orchard’s fruit buffet runs from 26 April to the end of July, or until stocks are finished, from 09.00 – 16.00 Hrs. Many types of Durian can be enjoyed, including Monthong durian, Chanee durian, Kan Yao Durian and Nok Krajib Durian as well as other fruits. There is a limit of 300 visitors per day. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Lamai
Visitors can take a tram to sightsee around the orchard and taste such fruits as Durian and Rambutan and also Thai desserts and somtam papaya salad. There’s also a sheep farm and coffee shop. The open buffet season is from 27 April to 15 June, from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. Located in Pa Yup Nai Sub-district, Wang Chan District, Rayong.

Suphattra Land
This orchard grows 25 types of fruit over an area of 800 rai. Visitors are welcome every day of the year, as the fruit harvesting is carried out year round. Daily opening hours are 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. Located in Nonglalok Sub-district, Ban Khai District, Rayong.

Suan Sangdad
A smaller orchard but offering a warm welcome to all, and with a fruit buffet and special menu Durian and Sweet Sticky Rice to enjoy. Selfie-lovers will love the flower garden. This orchard’s fruit season is open from 28 April to the end of June from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. or until stocks run out. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Phooyai Sawet
The fruit buffet here is open from 1 May until the middle of June, or until stocks run out, from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. Among the fruits available are Durian, Mangosteen, Langsat and Snake Fruit and there’s also Thai food such as Thai rice vermicelli served with curry. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Lamduan
This orchard has an abundance of Durian including Monthong durian, Chanee durian and Monthong mixed Chanee durian which is its newest product. There is also a Rayong local product shop. The open buffet season here is from 1 May to the end of July, or until stocks are out, from 08.00 – 16.00 Hrs. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Chorfha
The fruit buffet here includes Durian, Mangosteen, Rambutan, Langsat and fruits of all seasons, while there is also somtam papaya salad, fried chicken, Thai dessert and shaved ice to enjoy. This is open from 1 May until the end of July or until stocks run out, from 09.00 – 16.00 Hrs. Located in Sam Nak Thong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Prasomsarp

The five types of fruit to indulge in here are Durian, Salacca, Mangosteen, Rambutan and Langsat. In addition, there are also the five dishes of tom yum, fish dishes with chili or topped with fish sauce, a variety of chili dip with fresh vegetables, curry pork and Thai omelette. Opening hours are from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. from 1 May until the end of July or until stock are out. Located in Ban Khai District, Rayong. 

Suan Khun Maprang
Here visitors can sightsee around the orchard and enjoy the fruit buffet that includes Durian, Mangosteen, Rambutan and Salacca. There’s also somtam papaya salad, and sweeten sticky rice with coconut milko served. Opening hours are from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. from 1 May to the end of July, or until stocks run out. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Lung Ying
The fruit buffet here serves Durian, Mangosteen, and Langsat, and there’s also somtam papaya salad, and Thai rice vermicelli with curry. Its open from 1 May to the end of July, or until stocks are out. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.

Suan Pa-nun
The fruit, Thai food and dessert buffet is open from 12 May until the end of July, or until stocks run out, from 08.00 – 17.00 Hrs. Located in Tapong Sub-district, Muang District, Rayong.
