Bangkok Airways launched BKK-Chiang Rai flight"

Bangkok, 2 April 2014 – Bangkok Airways has launched the new Bangkok – Chiang Mai domestic flight from 28 March 2014. The airline operates two flights per week on the route, using a 162-seater Airbus A320 aircraft.

Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, Bangkok Airways’ President stated, “We see Chiang Rai as another potential destination to enhance tourism and commerce within the region. The city is also a strategic gateway to neighboring countries such as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic which is a path way for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community as well as most southern parts of China.”

Through its new routing, the airline plans to promote Chiang Rai as the center of cycling. It is offering an extra privilege for passengers flying on its flights from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Chiang Rai to travel with 1 bicycle for free.

The first outbound flight PG231 departs from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 07.35hrs and arrives in Chiang Rai Airport at 08.55hrs while the second outbound flight will depart Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 18.05hrs and arrive in Chiang Rai Airport at 19.25hrs. For the first inbound flight, PG232 will depart from Chiang Rai Airport at 09.45hrs and arrives in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 11.05hrs while the second inbound flight will depart Chiang Rai airport at 20.10hrs and arrive Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 21.30hrs
