TAT Newsroom hosts second social influencers trip to South Thailand

First trip for six Thailand-based social influencers featured charming Phrae and authentic Nan with second trip for another six overseas social influencers highlighting attractions in Satun and Songkhla.

Bangkok, 24 February 2020 The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has successfully completed its first ‘TAT Newsroom Blogger Thailand 2020’ trip for Thailand-based social influencers to Phrae and Nan while also announcing the schedule for its much anticipated second trip.  The experiences from the first trip have already been shared on the website (www.tatnews.org/bloggerthailand) and TATnews.org social media platforms.

The next adventure for overseas social influencers is now scheduled from 1 to 5 April, 2020, and will cover attractions in Satun and Songkhla.

All told Satun has over 23 tourism communities where overseas social influencers can expect to experience Satun’s rich geographical and cultural diversity. The trip will also have a chance to experience the splendour of Ko Lipe, Satun’s most famous attraction and one of the few year-round surfing destinations in Thailand.

In 2018, UNESCO endorsed the designation of about half of Satun province as Thailand’s first Global Geopark for its renowned natural beauty and geological significance.

The UNESCO website describes the Satun Geopark area as “a peaceful place with renowned natural beauty”. It stated, “The area is renowned, in both Thailand and the whole of Southeast Asia, for its abundance and high diversity of fossil species as well as for the oldest collection of fossils.

“Prasat Hin Panyod is probably the most important geosite of the Geopark. The outstanding geological features of this site are characterised by a spectacular pinnacle karst landscape, including a stunning sea cave and hidden lagoon, which tourists can visit by kayak,” it added.

Since Satun does not have its own airport, the trip will fly in and out of Hat Yai International Airport, so the programme will also feature the rustic charm of old Songkhla town.

Thailand has recently put stringent health surveillance systems for the COVID-19 virus control in place to ensure all participants are healthy and happy.

TAT expressed confidence that all responsible government authorities and key travel industry private sector stakeholders are working hand-in-hand to prevent further spread or importation of the COVID-19 virus to the country.
